Flexibility is the range of motion of body tissues around a specific joint, and is determined by the elasticity of the muscles and ligaments of the joint. It is a major component of body health, as the ability to move easily and without pain (being flexibile) determines how active a person will be. Exercise programs such as yoga and pilates, as well as chiropractic care can improve a person's flexibility after injury or lack of use.
